The dual enrollment program allows qualifying students the opportunity to be enrolled in courses at post secondary institutions in order to dually earn credits for a diploma/degree at both the high school and post secondary levels. Jacksonville State University (JSU), Gadsden State Community College (GSCC), and Jacksonville High School (JHS) have established an agreement to provide this opportunity.
Dual enrollment is offered to students in grades 10, 11, and 12 who meet all eligibility requirements, have an average of 80 as computed by averaging all completed core high school courses, and have written approval of the high school principal and the superintendent of education. These courses are of the postsecondary/college level. As such, students are expected to perform work at the postsecondary/college level. Courses may be awarded elective or core credit at the discretion of Jacksonville High School.
